Moisture mitigation and vapor barrier

Stop moisture vapor coming up through the slab before it lifts the floor you put on top.

The problem

Why this system.

Concrete breathes. When vapor drive is high, coatings bubble and peel, adhesives fail, and flooring warps. Most coating failures we are called to fix trace back to moisture nobody tested for.

Where it belongs

  • Slabs on grade with no vapor retarder
  • New concrete that has not fully dried
  • Below-grade and basement floors
  • Any floor that already failed once
  • Before tile, LVT, wood, or coatings

The system

What goes down.

We test first: relative humidity probes and calcium chloride. If the numbers are over the limit for the finish you want, a moisture-mitigating epoxy goes down as a vapor barrier, then the floor system on top. Documented readings before and after.

When it is the wrong choice

Not needed when the slab tests dry and has a working vapor retarder under it. We test so you do not pay for a barrier you do not need.
